Villa Bordoni, Chianti Luxury Hotel, Greve in Chianti, gourmet restaurant, wine cellar

The bathrooms of Villa Bordoni were the starting point for the renovation work. Indeed, the colour palette of each adjoining bedroom was inspired by the very particular hues of the precious antique tiled floors. These ceramics which were both made and painted by hand, originate in the tiny town of Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi coast. They were purchased from experts in architectural salvage, and in their first lives dwellt in aristocratic residences and monasteries in Southern Italy.

Riccardo Barthel's workshops near Porta Romana, Florence, produced all of the bathroom accessories, lighting and the elaborate ceramic boiseries, all hand made by Tuscan artisans to recreate the original "feeling" of the villa and to complement the bleached tones of the floors.

Each bathroom is utterly unique and in every instance, we have endeavoured to preserve beauty without sacrificing functionality.

In some of the bathrooms we have provided both a bathtub and a shower, while in others, large showers (big enough for two) with hydro massage jets and bench seats. Furthermore, we have ensured that every bathroom is provided with a heated towel rail, a hairdryer and our own bathroom products infused with citrus fruits and green tea. For the final touch of comfort, there are piles of fluffy soft towels and dressing gowns to luxuriate in after stepping out of an invigorating shower or a relaxing bath...
